A WAR ON THE REAL.

Why does the real stand as mystery before the greatest minds among us
And seem so obvious to be without comment among the rest?
Whom are its most trusted keepers and preservers?
It’s philosophical technicians
Or those who trust its operations so
they take it for granted?
Neither party takes the Fogs of Illusions and Delusions and Exclusions into account
In their assessment of those mechanisms that not only color and give focus to our perceptions
But quietly conform our behaviors
Into the greater macro-organism’s greater whole.
But there it stands before you,
Utterly normed,
This Fog of Illusions and Delusions and Exclusions,
Poisoning your spirit,
Holding the whole you
Hollowed-out Hostage
And you are wholly ignorant to it
Precisely as the Fog is purposed and designed.
I used the word macro-organism a few lines above,
Didn’t I?
You are each cells in a serious of nesting, interconnected, vastly larger organisms.
Your collective behaviors,
Particularly what you do with your hands,
Sustains them in their physical forms
Which you cannot see from within them.
Culture and reality serve actual material purpose within these contexts.
Understanding how culture affects the real
Can help you better see
What is at stake
But way of understanding
What the Fogs of Illusions and Delusions mask.
Culture in this context is the literal chemical incubator
Of both our physical forms
By way of diet
And of our mental constructs
By way of memetic transmissions
Of information and opinion.
Reality is the shared illusion we embrace
That conditions our perceptions
Along shared cultural agreements
So that when I see a color
And call it red
You call it red
When you see that color, too.
So it is reality saves us from the dystopia
Of an uncategorized real
By way of cultural instruction
For how we might program our interpretations
Of the same
Stimuli and information streams.
Some difference and divergence is permitted.
Cross-pollination is a beautiful thing,
After all.
Things get strange when cultures offer
Blinding instruction
To what is contained and conditioned within the real,
For whatever reason suits those who dominate the culture
As rewarded by the superseding organisms.
This is where the Fogs of Illusions and Delusions manifest,
And we confuse their memetic instructions
For the real
And desperately defend our connection to that
By way of the Fogs
Whether we are commoner or philosopher.
Do we rage against the lies
If the Fog provides us comfort and reassurance?
The sign reads,
Keep Out.
Is that because it’s dangerous in there
Or isn’t that because they
Whomever they are
Don’t want you do know?
This is the Fog of Illusions and Delusions at work.
Do you conform
Or do your rebel?
Each presents a different set of risks.
The conformist risks going too far with the illusion
And the rebel risks crashing the whole of the greater order.
By what philosophy do you make your rebellion?
By what moral structure do you conform?
And why is there no comfortable
Middle
Ground?
